Date, venue, flowers, music, food, invitations, guest list, the list goes on and on. Wedding planning is an absolute dream come true but its super stressful too! I was asked to do a blog post with wedding tips & ideas so here it goes ;)
First of all, I can't believe our wedding was TWO years ago. Time flies.. JoJo went off to pilot training a few months after we got engaged so he left the venue hunting up to me. My mom & I went to about four venues none of which blew us away, but then we visited the Barn at Gibbet Hill. We loved the rustic wooded barn look with its tall ceilings & gorgeous chandeliers. We facetimed JoJo and showed him and he was sold too.
We got married in my hometown church St Michaels in North Andover, then the reception was at
here in Groton, MA.
There are so many little details to wedding planning that can be very overwhelming. The simplest advice I can give is to make a to do list. You're probbaly like okay, duh. But seriously, just be organized. I didn't find too much help from all those wedding planning books other than learning about some good wedding etiquette.
My
bridal shower was at
Salvatore's in Lawrence, MA on the good ol' Merrimack river. I grew up eating here with family so it was cool to have a special day in their function room. My mom threw my shower and she did such a good job. She made it a "girls night out" theme so it was on a Friday night. There were a bunch of apps// pizza, pasta, and salad bar. My hubby, dad & brother went golfing then showed up toward the end for gift opening and surprised me which was sweet.
(ps how cute is my Mimi?^)

These rosary beads are made with the flowers from my grandmothers funeral, I kept them close by that day
This picture is so special to me ^
(the bridesmaids & groomsmen rode in a trolley)
Gifts: I love giving gifts and letters. So, I did both for the following people.
My mom and mother in law: an engraved compact mirror for their purses
Dad: a patch for the back of his tie
Bridesmaids & flower girl: jewelry to wear the day of the wedding
Groomsmen: personalized flasks
Memorial pieces for two very special people:
Before my father and I got up to the alter, I stopped and gave my mom a single flower that I had hidden in my bouquet.
One of JoJos very best friends is a priest in the catholic church. It was so special having him marry us.
We made sure to give hugs to just a few special people on the way out of the church ;)
For our entrance, JoJo carried me in then did a backflip of course.. there were lots of backflips that night
I had the DJ announce that my parents 25th anniversary was coming up so they got up and danced to one of their favorite songs, then everyone joined in.
Before the bouquet toss I surprised my mom and gave her my bouquet, and tossed a mini one & my best friend, Bridget, caught it!
Our guest book: my grandfather is a woodworker, so he built us a bench for everyone to sign
Details/ favors around the barn: I got almost everything on etsy. My aunt made the cute sign, thanks auntie sue! :)

Our exit was a paper airplane toss during our last song. Only made sense since we left for JoJos pilot training in New Mexico the next day! JoJo and I always reminisce on how absolutely perfect this day was. We were so grateful to have amazing family & friends to share it with.
Such a gorgeous wedding. The photographs are just so nice! I am glad to see these. Thanks for sharing this post dear. Even we want to have a grand snow white inspired wedding but having hard time in finding affordable Los Angeles wedding venues for the day. Could anyone here suggest a good venue?
